Art Therapy
Art therapy involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, colouring, or sculpting to help people express themselves artistically and examine the psychological and emotional undertones in their art. With the guidance of a credentialed art therapist, clients can “decode” the nonverbal messages, symbols, and metaphors often found in these art forms, which should lead to a better understanding of their feelings and behaviour so they can move on to resolve deeper issues.
Art Therapy is helpful for treating clients who have experienced trauma, loss, or grief through significant life transitions and suffering from depression and anxiety disorders. It uses the creative process to help express feelings that are difficult to verbalise.Nutrition and Dietetics
A lack of essential nutrients is known to contribute to the onset of poor mental health in people suffering from anxiety and depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and behaviour disorders. Dietetic interventions, as part of a collaborative approach for mental health promotion, support and encourage mental well-being by enhancing lifestyle and behaviour, self-esteem and a healthy body image, improving knowledge and skills.
